Our mini gelding (who thinks he is an 18hh stallion) is a pain in the butt!!!

He came back from being on lease because he turned into a completely feral little monster (thanks mainly to being out on green feed we think! Hes not THAT naughty here at home!!)....

He went in with Tobi - who he was buddies with previously and they got along fine - and he beat Tobi up!!!! The little ferret doesnt even come up to Tobis withers when hes on his hind legs, but he managed to put Tobi in his place!!

Normally, I have Tobis feed bin down on the ground ..... but I put it up on the front of the stable, where I THOUGHT it was out of reach of said feral pony....

Well, where there is a will there is a way...... Said feral pony reared up, stuck his nose in the feeder, grabbed a mouthful, back on all 4 legs to eat it, then repeated process.....

It was actually pretty hillarious to watch!

And there was the 17.3hh stallion standing back looking at me as if to say 'but mum, thats MY dinner'......

So today, feral pony got moved in with another pony, Oscar, who is here to get some work before being sold.....

All I can say is thank goodness the boundary fence is secure, as I completely forgot that the little ferret can get himself under the stallion paddock fence...... lol....

Oscar is in the stallion paddock (one of them) as Bill is down being broken in, and his paddock was vacant at the time because Bills girls are out the back on the green feed......

I swear, big horses are soooooooooooooooo much easier to deal with than little ferrets like Denny...... lol

He is having a blast at the moment belting around the yard and laneway....... I may just throw him out with the sheep I think rather than popping him in a paddock with other horses.......We figure if its sheep proof, it should be Denny resistant!!!

Anyone else have a problem keeping the little tackers in???

*sigh* mine are good with fences......

My problem is that a friend of mine used my paddock and then her gelding demolished my fences.

No sign of them being rebuilt yet...so I guess I'll have to do it myself.

Get an electric fence, that'll fix the lil bugger.

Hmmmmmmmmmm on any NORMAL mini, an electric might fix the problem - not with this rodent though...... thinks they are FUN TOYS to be played with, bitten, rubbed against etc just for the 'fun' of getting a zap! lol...........

One day a couple of years ago, one of the neighbours knocked on the door early in the morning saying that there was a pony hung up on the fence........

Went out and yep...... 5 ft high fence, couldnt get THROUGH it, so he tried to go OVER it - all 90 - 91cm of him.......

But he got hooked up on his stifles and by the poo pile, he had been there all night...... lol......

Little devil he is!!!

They got removed when he was a 3 yr old Buttons..........so thats not his problem....... he THINKS he has them though....

He IS pure evil...

I went out a little earlier to check out where he was - and he was back in the paddock he was supposed to be in....... I thought I was going batty......

So mixed up the preggo mares feeds and he heard the bucket rattle in the feed shed didnt he.....

Next thing I know this little fuzzy head pokes in the door........

Put Sidas feed in with her trying to take his head off through the fence - this last week of her pregnancy shes got real cranky, poor baby.... shes lost all patience..... shes not comfortable so EVERYONE gets to know about it! lol..... normally shes a sweet sweet girl..... (she is out there right now pawing in her water trough - she is a water baby.... as long as she doesnt give the foal a water birth! lol)........

Anyhow, I put her feed in, walked out of her yard and went to put the empty bucket down so I could go put Cuties in in the next yard - and the little ferret grabbed the empty bucket and tried to run off with it.....

He is cute, but hes an annoying little gnat!!! We couldnt possibly part with him, because I think anyone else would SHOOT him.......
